Langtang Region Treks
|
|
 |
|
The region north of Kathmandu is one of the nearest trekking
destinations easily accessible by land. It offers a superb
trekking experience that could not be found elsewhere. The
trails are
challenging with long, steep climbs and descents, often through
deep forests or across glacier mountain views and interesting
villages with well-established lodges. Being close to the
Tibetan border, this region was previously declared as a
restricted area but now it is open for trekkers to explore the
entire area. Trekking to the remote holy lakes at Gosainkunda,
climb the Yala peak (5500 m) and Naya Kanga (5846 m) are the
major highlights of this region. The views of
panoramic snowy peaks of Langtang Lirung, Pemthang Ri ,
Langshisha Ri , Dorje Lakpa, and Ganchempo from this region are
captivating and heart-touching. |
